At the invitation of the National Kobe University of Japan, Professor Ji Weidong, Director of the Japan Research Center of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, attended the launching ceremony of the interdisciplinary postgraduate education project in economics and law and the commemoration of the international seminar on February 17, 2020, and delivered a special speech on the theme "The interaction between law and economy in an intelligent network society". Other speakers included Professor Stefan Voigt, Director of the Institute of Law and Economics of Hamburg University, Germany, Professor Shahrul Mizan of the National University of Malaysia, and lawyer Kending Iwabashi, former special professor of the Law School of Tokyo University.

On the same day, Professor Takeda, President of Kobe University, invited Professor Ji Weidong to have lunch in the VIP room. The attendees included Professor Yoshihiko Yoshii, Vice President in charge of international exchanges, Professor Hiroko Zengboto, Vice President in charge of international education and cooperation, Professor Komatsu, Dean of the School of Law, Professor Komatsu Shengshi, Dean of the School of Economics, Professor Nakamura Bao, Dean of the School of Economics, and Professor Huang Phosphorus, Deputy Director of the Asian Comprehensive Academic Center. President Takeda first thanked Shanghai Jiao Tong University for its contribution to the forum held by the two universities on December 6 last year, and hoped to further promote interdisciplinary research and education cooperation in the future. Everyone was very concerned about the epidemic situation in China and Japan and expressed condolences to the Chinese people and students studying abroad. At the same time, they also discussed the possibility of conducting multidisciplinary cooperative research in epidemic prevention, public health and medical care. Since Professor Kentaro Iwata, an infectious disease expert from Kobe University School of Medicine, has gone to Yokohama to investigate the epidemic prevention and control of the Diamond Princess cruise ship, he has no chance to meet this time, but has been contacted by email.
Later, Professor Ji Weidong will give a series of lectures on interdisciplinary research on the integration of arts and science in the university.
