With advancements of computing power, the accumulation of big data, and improvements in algorithms, AI has entered a new era of development opportunities. In recent years, various generative AI applications have been launched, bringing AI applications into a new phase of development. Generative AI is becoming a frontier for technological innovation, sparking extensive research and discussion, and positively impacting numerous companies and industries. It is reported that the Japanese government has released the "Guidelines for the Application of Generative AI in Content Creation”, released the feedback results on the “Draft Guidelines for AI Operators", and is currently discussing comprehensive measures to address risks associated with generative AI and deep fake technology. On the other hand, the Chinese government has issued the "Interim Measures for the Management of Generative AI Services”, taking the lead globally in legislative action. Japan, an early entrant into the AI field, has seen rapid development and application of AI technology in many sectors. China, on the other hand, stands as the most active market for generative AI, leveraging its demographic advantages and a robust, proactive innovation ecosystem to lead the world in both the scenario-based implementation and adoption rate of generative AI products among citizens and enterprises. At the same time, as both China and Japan face social challenges such as aging populations, declining birthrates, and economic transformation, generative AI will offer significant opportunities and momentum for addressing real-world issues, achieving industrial restructuring, and economic transformation.

To promote win-win cooperation in the field of generative AI between China and Japan, the 7th "Innovation and Co-Creation" Sino Japanese Enterprise Innovation Cooperation Forum, co-hosted by Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the Consulate General of Japan in Shanghai and organized by Center for Japanese Studies, Shanghai Jiao Tong University(“the Center”), was held grandly at Shanghai Jiao Tong University on the afternoon of September 27th.
