On the morning of October 9, 2019, the fourth lecture of Nitto Special Lecture of Japan Research Center of Shanghai Jiaotong University was held in the Oriental Hall of Liao Kaiyuan Law Building, Xuhui Campus, Jiaotong University. The event was hosted by Japan Research Center of Shanghai Jiaotong University and sponsored by Nitto Electric (China) Investment Co., Ltd. Mr. Wang Shi, the founder and honorary chairman of the board of directors of Vanke Group, and Mr. Cao Wenlian, the chairman of the International Alliance for Silk Road Industry and Finance and the director of the Academic Committee of the International Cooperation Center of the National Development and Reform Commission, were invited as the keynote speakers in the lecture. The themes of the lecture were respectively "Comparison and Thinking of Chinese and Japanese Cultures" and "Belt and Road Construction and Sino Japanese Economic Cooperation". Mr. Shi Kai, the former deputy director of the Legal Affairs Committee of the Standing Committee of the Shanghai Municipal People's Congress and the director of the expert committee of the Shanghai Community Development Research Association, Professor Chen Yingfang, a famous urban sociologist at Shanghai Jiaotong University, Mr. Fu Zhiqiang, the general planner of Vanke Group, and lawyer Qiu Suo, a senior partner of Jintiancheng Law Firm, served as the interviewers.

The lecture focused on the cultural comparison between China and Japan, the construction of the Belt and Road and the economic cooperation between China and Japan, and was opened under the auspices of Professor Ji Weidong, director of the Japan Research Center of Shanghai Jiaotong University. Mr. Shen Guoming, former Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Chairman of Shanghai Federation of Social Sciences, and Chair Professor of Kaiyuan School of Law of Shanghai Jiaotong University, delivered a speech on the stage. He first expressed his thanks to Nitto Electric for its strong support for Nitto's special lectures. Later, he said that the cooperation opportunities between China and Japan will increase in the future, and the cultural and economic exchanges between the two countries will be particularly important, so the significance of this lecture is very far-reaching. Subsequently, Mr. Great Wall Shengyi, director of Nitto Electric (China) Investment Co., Ltd., also delivered a speech. He said that the topics of this lecture were all topics of great concern to China and Japan, and he believed that he would benefit a lot from the speeches of Mr. Wang Shi and Mr. Cao Wenlian.

After the speech, Mr. Wang Shi, founder and honorary chairman of the board of directors of Vanke Group, the first speaker, made a speech themed "Comparison and Thinking of Chinese and Japanese Cultures" by virtue of his understanding of Japan and his experience in the industry. Mr. Wang Shi first talked about the differences between China and Japan on industrial and commercial status. He elaborated on the establishment of the merchant status in the Edo era of Japan and the merchant concept established by Chinese history and culture, as well as the cultural differences between China and Japan observed from this perspective. Mr. Wang Shi quoted scriptures, and his speech style was casual and lively. He answered the audience's questions one by one during the speech, which caused warm applause and laughter. The 40 minute speech made the audience listen with great interest, and many guests nodded frequently. Finally, Mr. Wang Shi also expressed his thanks for the invitation to this lecture.

Later, Mr. Cao Wenlian, Chairman of the International Alliance for Silk Road Industry and Finance and Director of the Academic Committee of the International Cooperation Center of the National Development and Reform Commission, delivered a speech on the theme of "the Belt and Road Construction and China Japan Economic Cooperation". The theme of Mr. Cao Wenlian's speech is divided into three parts, namely, the progress of the "Belt and Road" construction, the challenges and challenges it faces, and the opportunities and obstacles for China Japan cooperation. First of all, Mr. Cao briefly reviewed the proposal of the "Belt and Road" initiative, and then introduced the current construction of the "Belt and Road" and the five major directions. The basic formation of the main framework of cooperation, the further improvement of the level of free trade, the significant progress in international production capacity cooperation, the accelerated improvement of the support and guarantee system, and the growing popularity of the people made us quickly understand the current situation of the "Belt and Road". After that, Cao Xiansheng also described the challenges faced from multiple levels: such as the game of great powers, the resurgence of global trade protectionism Regional security conflict risk and domestic political and economic factors. Mr. Cao Wenlian used his own work case to let audiences who have not been close to the "Belt and Road" construction know more. Finally, Mr. Cao Wenlian called on China and Japan to strengthen cooperation and communication, which is not only beneficial to the two countries themselves, but also conducive to the construction of the "Belt and Road".

First of all, four experts from different fields analyzed why China and Japan are facing the situation of aging at the same time, the problem of fewer children in Japan, and the problem that China's family planning policy has led to the reduction of the younger generation. The development of medical technology and the progress of social welfare have also extended the average life span, resulting in an increasing proportion of the elderly in the social population. In addition, the situation of unmarried and sterile young generation is becoming more and more serious, which makes the young generation bear more pressure. The aging problem caused by many aspects of legislation, society, economy and the country also needs to be solved from many aspects. Later, the audience on the scene also communicated with several experts on this topic.
