The 3rd Shanghai Jiao Tong University "Innovation and Co-creation" Sino-Japanese Enterprise Innovation Cooperation Forum was successfully held in Shanghai Hengshan Hotel on January 9. The theme of the forum was "China-Japan Health Cooperation in the Post-epidemic Era". The guests discussed how Chinese and Japanese companies and research institutions can strengthen anti-epidemic cooperation and interaction in the health industry. Which includes aspects of testing equipment, epidemic prevention measures, treatment plans, and explore technological innovations in fields such as drug development and medical equipment. Would be Looking forward to the development prospects of the medical and health industry in using the Internet platform, that is AI technology and Big Data, and explore the broad possibilities of industrial cooperation between China and Japan. The forum was co-sponsored by Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the Consulate-General of Japan in Shanghai, and hosted by the Center for Japanese Studies of Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Weidong Ji, a Senior Professor of Liberal Arts at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Director of the Center for Japanese Studies. Zhen Huang, the President of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Vice Dean of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and the Consul-General (Ambassador) of Japan in Shanghai Isomata Akio, respectively delivered speeches on behalf of the co-organizers, clarifying the purpose and significance of the Sino-Japanese Business Innovation Cooperation Forum.

During the first main session of the forum, Ning Liu the Vice President of Strategic Cooperation in Akcome Group, Mr. Yuji Tsuruta the Director of Industry III of Nomura Research Institute (Shanghai), Yuncheng Xu the Chief Operating Officer of Beijing Megvii Technology, and Yao Zhao the General Manager of Omron Healthcare (China), respectively elaborated on the direction of China-Japan Innovation Cooperation in the health industry from different perspectives. Professor Weidong Ji presided over the discussions in this unit.

Ning Liu the Vice President of Strategic Cooperation in Akcome Group, believes that “under the landscape of the Internet, breakthroughs have been made in the Health Care system, and the concept of National Health Care Management has also been re-defined. Customized, Digitalized, and Precise Health management is trending. The use of Artificial Intelligence will also be widely adopted in the field of Preventive Medicine."

result cost reduction and improve efficiency."

Yao Zhao the General Manager of Omron Health-care (China) believes that "at present, the market urgently needs a Commercial Closed-loop Solution for Chronic Disease Management. Through the innovative research and development of hardware + software and indoor-hospital + family-scenario, a Multi-scenario Integrated Management tool will be formed to cater in and out of hospital, so as to accurately follow-up and manage the whole course of Chronic disease with multiple roles."

The second part of the forum is the relay speech. Takakan Fukuda, the Vice Consul General of the Japanese Consulate-General in Shanghai would be the host. Jianxin Xu the Chairman of Shanghai Upper Bio-tech Pharma Co.,LTD, Baolei Sun the Vice President and Strategy Planning Director of Terumo (China) Investment, Hansong Xia the Director of the International Department of Shanghai International Medical Center, Tokuhezhi the Deputy General Manager of Shanghai Kohden Medical Electronic Instrument Corporation, Qing Chang the Laboratory Director of Shanghai Jiading District Central Hospital, Min Zhang the Vice President and Head of Corporate Patient Services Department of Takeda (China) Investment, Jun Hu the Head of Japan business of Shanghai Wu Xi Biologics, and Ying Liu the International Medical Director of Shanghai Yongxing Gynecology Hospital delivered speeches respectively.

The speeches in this session mainly focuses on four parts:
Firstly, introduced the development and innovation of technology equipment in the Digital and Artificial Intelligence era.
Secondly, combined with detailed medical examples, reported on the analysis of the treatment level and drug development, such as the Nucleic Acid Detection, Antibody Detection and the Emerging SAA Detection Technology, which played an important role in the screening and diagnosis of Coronavirus.
Thirdly, investigation was implemented to oversee the situation of the community epidemic prevention and was concerned to the construction and development of community epidemic prevention mechanism. In reference to the Japanese model, establishing new mechanisms in the Chinese communities, such as early screening of gastric cancer, community infection and antibiotic management.
Lastly, enhanced Sino-Japanese interaction and cooperation on the development in the medical and health industry, looked back to the friendly cooperation between China and Japan in 2020, and looks forward to the direction of Sino-Japanese cooperation in the post epidemic era. All the speakers played the role of asking questions and discussed with other guests. The atmosphere of the venue was cheerful and the discussion was enthusiastic, which also inspired many new ideas and methods, and further enhanced the importance of Sino-Japanese cooperation.

The closing session of the forum was presided over by Jian Ding the Vice Director of the Center for Japanese Studies. Fukuda Takata, Vice Consul-General of the Japanese Consulate-General in Shanghai, and Weidong Ji, the Director of the Center for Japanese Studies of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, made concluding remarks respectively. The forum mainly discussed how to strengthen the cooperation in combating the epidemic and further development in the health industry between Chinese and Japanese enterprises and research institutions. By listening to the latest research results of experts and scholars from China and Japan, a further broader platform would be provided for the cooperation and interaction between Chinese and Japanese enterprises, and also put forward suggestions for further in-depth innovation and cooperation.
