In the afternoon of June 16, an Okinawa historical and cultural delegation led by visiting professor Youji Qingsheng of Okinawa University visited the Japan Research Center of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and was warmly received by Professor Ji Weidong, director of the Japan Research Center. The delegation visited the History Museum of Jiaotong University and Dong Haoyun Shipping Museum in turn, and then came to the Japan Research Center for a brief talk with Professor Ji. During the talks, Professor Ji Weidong explained the historical origin of Shanghai Jiaotong University and Japan, introduced the basic situation of the Japan Research Center and various activities since its establishment. Professor Youji and members of the delegation showed great interest in the history of Jiaotong University, paying special attention to the origin of East Asian Tongwen Academy and Jiaotong University, and encouraging young Japanese researchers to explore the history and culture of Okinawa, so as to build a bridge for promoting Sino Japanese exchanges. Xu Yue, Director of the Office of the Japan Research Center, Yin Yue, a full-time researcher, and Liu Dan, an associate professor of Kaiyuan Law School of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, attended the meeting and reception.
