2On the afternoon of November 23, 2019, the second TELL+JAPAN stage speech activity jointly sponsored by the Japan Research Center of Shanghai Jiaotong University and Kaiyuan Law School of Shanghai Jiaotong University, organized by TELL Public Lecture and supported by Peifu Enterprise Management Consulting (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. was held in the Oriental Hall of Liao Kaiyuan Law Building, Xuhui Campus, Shanghai Jiaotong University. Although it is early winter and the weather is getting warmer just after the light snow, a light rain in the afternoon did not block the coming audience from taking pictures in front of the big pink cherry background board. This event invited Professor Wang Shaopu, consultant of Japan Research Center of Shanghai Jiaotong University, and Professor Cheng Jinhua, vice dean of Kaiyuan School of Law of Shanghai Jiaotong University, to deliver a speech and present the award to the speakers.

Wang Shaopu, consultant of Japan Research Center

In his speech, Wang Shaopu, on behalf of the Japan Research Center, sincerely thanked all friends for their support to the TELL+JAPAN public speech activity and the work of the Japan Research Center of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He pointed out that, with the promotion of this event, the non-governmental exchanges between China and Japan will be carried out in a richer form, and the people of China and Japan will experience deeper dialogue and exchanges. This event is of great significance to the realization of "understanding change and win-win" between the two countries.

Cheng Jinhua, Vice Dean of Kaiyuan Law School

In his speech, Vice President Cheng Jinhua, on behalf of Kaiyuan Law School, extended a warm welcome to all guests and audience attending the event, and expressed sincere thanks to the co organizers of the event. He introduced the development history and current situation of the Law School, and emphasized that the achievements of the Law School were closely related to the full support of the School and the School's own efforts to focus on scientific research and interdisciplinary vigorous development. He believed that the holding of the second TELL+JAPAN event would help promote the efforts and contributions of China and Japan in the field of people to people exchanges.
In this TELL+JAPAN stage style speech activity, five TELLERs went on the stage to tell about the fate of Japan, China and themselves:
Fate 1:

Etiquette trainer Liu Huiying

The first time Liu Huiying "stepped onto" the stage of TELL was on August 24 this year. Her sister Liu Huiqin was the speaker of TELL Story 11, and she went on stage to offer flowers to her sister. Unexpectedly, three months later, she went on the stage of TELL+JAPAN to tell everyone about her fate with Japanese mothers and become a professional etiquette trainer. The Japanese mother secretly gave her pocket money to make bento for her, and taught her to straighten her spine and dress properly... All these have influenced her, even her clients and her family for more than ten years. In addition to being supported and cared for by family members, as well as the teaching and care of Japanese mothers in distant countries, the happy Huiying also internalized etiquette into sincerity and told us her fate.

Fate 2:

Zhu Yin, CEO of Shanghai Xingzai Entertainment Group

Zhu Yin has been engaged in Sino Japanese cultural exchange activities for 25 years, all because he met Mr. Tian Geng when he was still working with 800 partners in 1995. Mr. Tian Geng worships Mr. Lu Xun, and he hopes to convey goodwill to the Chinese audience with his performance. Such an old man who is dedicated to his dreams has illuminated Zhu Yinxin's life direction. Mr. Fujino influenced Mr. Lu Xun, Mr. Lu Xun influenced Mr. Tian Geng, and Mr. Tian Geng influenced Zhu Yin. Since then, thousands of Chinese and Japanese audiences have walked into the theater to see innovative plays and have a further understanding of each other's culture. Culture is not a symbol, but a living individual. These people have had the fate to promote cultural exchanges.

Fate 3:

Cha Otian, Head of International Exchange Course of Fukuoka Municipal Government

Oda Sheng first laughed at himself when he came on stage, "I learned Mandarin from Cantonese." But this sentence has made the audience admire the Japanese's Chinese. When Fukuoka's Shinzo Oda came to Guangzhou to study for one year, this decision changed his life trajectory. Fukuoka and Guangzhou are friendly cities between China and Japan. A college student who had little interest in China returned to China to take the civil service examination and join in the work of Sino Japanese friendly exchanges. In the next two decades, Otian, like a glue, promoted contact and interaction between the two sister cities. The fate between the two cities played a wonderful role in the Japanese. Chinese students who were studying language together at Sun Yat sen University came from Guangdong to support Odian's speech.

Fate 4:

Chen Xiawen, Chairman of Best House Real Estate Consulting (Shanghai) Co., Ltd

Chen Xiawen is the chairman of Japan's No. 1 real estate consulting company. She uses her relationship with former Japanese colleagues to break the unbreakable misunderstanding of the ceiling of the foreign enterprise workplace. She told us that misunderstanding would cause us fear by her predestination with the Japanese police when she first arrived in Japan. Misunderstandings, whether they are about people or things, may stop us from moving forward or even cause opposition. What we need to do is not to treat things with respect to people, regardless of who they are, but only out of respect for people and rules. The same is true of the people to people exchanges between China and Japan.

Fate 5:

Yu Pengnian, former President of the Japanese Society of Shanghai

Teacher Yu Pengnian was born in 1937. As an overseas Chinese of a war enemy country, every family was very poor during the war, and the Japanese neighbors still took good care of them. After the founding of New China, Old Yu, who could not speak a word of Chinese, resolutely returned to China to participate in the construction of the motherland despite the opposition of his family. From then on, Japan and China, the two countries' natural predestination, have been accompanied by Mr. Yu all his life. He said, "My natural fate with Japan has made me go to hell and heaven"... Now 83 years old Yu is still paying attention to the news of China Japan exchanges and making his own contribution to China Japan folk exchanges.

Although the five Tellers have different careers and experiences, they all have unique and profound feelings and thoughts on the topic of Sino Japanese exchanges. The five speakers shared their predestination with Japan or China by telling their own experiences, providing a new direction of thinking for the communication between the Chinese and Japanese people, bringing more diversified forms and deeper content, enhancing the understanding and mutual trust between the Chinese and Japanese people, and promoting the realization of "understanding, change and win-win" between China and Japan. This is also the significance of TELL+JAPAN. The Japan Research Center of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Kaiyuan Law School will continue to promote exchanges between China and Japan and make efforts and contributions to deepening China Japan relations.
